It was long ago
A youthful yesterday
In the shadow of a fan
Sweeping me off the floor
Around and around
A top with no bottom
All fallen
All gone

...and then

Her finger
On my parted lips
Hushing away the crowd
Stifling the music
Her hand
My hand
No one else
No where else

...but with her

It was long ago
But well remembered
A night full of fire
Taking our leave
Taking our secrets
Taking all but our time
No looking back
No regrets

...and none still

She called today
All is fine
Her children growing
Her husband loving
We talked for an hour
All is fine
My kids are growing
My husband loving

...and we share secrets,
still.
