A veil lifted
from the earth mothers' face,
revealing her soft dark eyes
and gentle smile.

Her brilliance creates
a shimmering glow
on the waters that
form and fall as tears,
now running down my cheek.

Beauty and despondency.

One mirrors the other
in timeless torture.
The bitter with the sweet,
in various proportions.

I like it like that.

A full spectrum of feelings.
The good, the bad, the indifferent.
After all, she only lent herself to me.
She never said I could have her.
