I can't believe the ol' Quill is once again online.

Phil, as a former admin of another manifestation of PQ, I give you the utmost respect for refurbishing the old gal and keeping her true to form.

Unbelievable. :)

-GW

You wouldn't believe the massive amount of work he's done to get this place back up. Most of it is concentrated in this message board.

Well, the message board has been an ongoing side project of mine for years. There's a fair bit of work that went into the rest of the site, and there's still plenty more I want to add.

As for keeping the look, I should confess that it was easier to just find a copy of the old look and reuse it. But it works well and people seem to like it, so hey, it's all good :)

Jon (GW) Snow I have a sneeking suspision that we have corresponded.
I too think that it is good to see a new PQ rising from the ashes of the last one.
Phil, as probably your one and only octegenarian mamber might I suggest that when you diversify the poetry into classification forums you should press GW and also Rainrose in becoming forum Moderators? I will also volunteer if you think that would help. We were all three moderastors on the old PQ. I think that Emily - if she is Emily the Fairy from PQ - would also be willing to help.
I know that there is a lot of work which has to be done, and another site which tried to do its best for us old PQ'ers failed simply because
1st The 3 who were running it were overloaded with work

2nd Some of the moderators would not crack down on a deliberate trouble maker. This caused quite a few newcomers to leave and as well at that, upset others on the site which became a minor battleground, to everyones loss.
On the early board, I moderated three forums as Max Stout. Cyncity and I had quite the time revitalizing the old haiku forum into a short poetry format. Max and Emily the fairy covered acres of ground there. Many also immigrated to pq from the older poetryboard along with others who later began poetrybang. There was a lot of animosity caused by the literal evaporation of pq back then. I reflected a bit on that in another post.
Drytear was just getting underway again as well. It has survived through many changes and has recently experienced yet another transition.
Availability of better bells and whistles all the time has made these boards somewhat obsolete, with their uses reduced to launching pads (through links) for other websites.
So, having said all that rot, what the hell am I doing here again after all these many years?

I'll have to get back to you on that.
